The Southampton to Southsea Relay

I wouldn't usually do anything like this on Diary of a Ledger, particularly as there's a direct link to work, which is something I try to avoid.  However those of you that know who I work for, which is probably most of you, will probably be aware that last years tweetathon was directly linked to the charity that our branch had chosen to support.

However the whole of the company also supports a national charity and at the moment that charity is Beating Bowel Cancer.

Our call centres, currently there is one in every branch, are closing this year and to commemorate that a baton is being passed from call centre to call centre in unique and memorable ways.

Two girls from our branch are taking the baton from Southampton to Southsea on 25th March.  They are doing this first by tandem bicycle, then by train, then jogging, then by Solent Rescue's Life Boat and then by roller skating the last leg to their destination.

I'll get some pictures of them on their journey nearer the time, but it is a good cause and personally I'll be supporting purely out of a personal sense of loyalty to the team that works in our call centre who are truly gutted that they are being broken up.  How awesome that despite that they are prepared to do something positive.

If you'd like to make a donation you can do so here.

For those of you that don't know who I work for, that live in the UK, watch BBC2 Weds night for a fricking massive clue.
